How to get the equivalence of IIS6 in IIS7 Manager?
If this post isn't supposed to be sent in this forum, forgive me if you're offended by my post. I would like to know if there's a document showing all the equivalence between the manipulations/steps done in IIS6 Manager and in IIS7 Manager. What's my problem, if you ask? Well, I'm using Windows Server 2008 to host an Exchange 2007 server. So the IIS Manager is using IIS7 interface, but every article I found on the internet relating to configuration of Exchange 2007 that should be done in IIS Manager is using IIS6 Manager interface . I'm REALLY lost and stuck. An exemple article is http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb332063.aspx During the installation of IIS in my Windows Server 2008, I had only specified IIS 6 Management Compatibility but visibly this has no effect I expected. When I open the "IIS 6.0 Manager", the console is *EMPTY*. "Empty" means the tree on the left pane only contains the server name node and no sub-branch.

I think you should explain what problems you are having. When I installed Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 I had no IIS issues. Please let us know what errors or problems you are having.Karl

My problem is I only have IIS (7) Manager and it's totally different from previous version of IIS manager. Are you using IIS7 Manager?

How do you remove the self-signed SSL certificate by default associated to the website?

Hi Horinius, I do not find document showing all the equivalence between the manipulations/steps done in IIS6 Manager and in IIS7 Manager. Nevertheless, I think that you can refer to following articles which listed the IIS7 Operations: IIS 7.0: Operations Guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732976(WS.10).aspx In addition, you can also post your question on IIS forum to check whether they can provide further assistance: http://forums.iis.net/ Mike

Mike, thanks for your reply. OK, I'll check that "operations guide" later. To understand my problem, you could go to this article which teaches us how to setup ISA to work with OWA: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb794751.aspx#certfe You then scroll down a bit to the paragraph starting with "To obtain a new server certificate using..." The steps there are for IIS6 Manager, as you can't find "Directory Security" tab, you can't find any button to "Create a new certificate". Inside the note, we're told to "Remove the current certificate".... and of course, it's not possible with IIS7 Manager. It's a very bad idea of Microsoft to make such a big change to user interface. When people get lost, a normal reaction is to give up such stupid product.
