Hi Everyone, We have an Exchange 2003 servers and we are now planning to move to Exchange 2010. In Exchange 2003, we have two SMTP Connectors, one will use a smarthost and the other will use Pubic DNS. The use of SMTP Connector with smarthost is limited to few users who are members of specific group because we pay for only dozens of users who can use it. Any other users will use the SMTP Connector that uses Public DNS. In Exchange 2010, I can't see Delivery Restrictions tab just like in Exchange 2003 in the properties of Send Connector. Also, I can't see an option in HT Rule to specify the group who will use the SMTP Connector with smarthost. Please advise how to accomplish this. Thanks in advance!

We are using Messagelabs as smarthost server and we pay for any user who will use its service that's why we must define a group who can route emails via smarthost.

You cannot do sender based routing in Exchange 2010 using connector permissoins. They changed the connector arcihtecture and permissions model from E2003 to E2007 (and carried over in E2010). You can write a custom transport agent (or pay someone else to do it for you). There may be third party tools that implement a transport agent you can purchase. We've got some fairly complex smtp routing requirements here, and I'm using a Cisco/Ironport appliance to handle my smtp relay and routing. Hello, I hab a similar problem and solved it by creating a transport rule which prevents all users from sending mails to an external recipient except of some special users. Greetings, Toni
