How to configure exchange 2003 to not save emails and download them to every user outlook?
Hi guys, How can i configure the existing exchange 2003 user mailboxes in general, so emails are not saved on the server but get downloaded to every user outlook as pst? I know I can go manually and make them save in a pst, but what I'm looking to is that those mails dont keep on the server even if read by users.

Well, there isnt any way other than you using POP3 to download all messages. Exchange will always keep all emails to the database by default. What you can do is disable the MAPI access to the store by clients and then just allow users to use Exchange POP in stead. A perfect match for your requirement is very nicely described at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb219050(EXCHG.65).aspxMMilind Naphade | MCTS:M | http://www.msexchangegeek.com

Out of curiosity, why would you want to do this? You lose the functionality of Exchange if you do this.Karl

Hi,As Milind said, only POP3 client can make the email download on local profile and clear the email from the server side. However, if the user log on from others computer, the old email will not be available for the client. Thus, I suggest we keep the email on the server.ThanksAllen
