How to completely remove an old Server from EMC??
The backround for this problem goes like this two weeks ago i've arrived at new small org, as the new network manager (not sure how to put the title in english). up until now they worked with not much order here and there is lot of mess to sort up. as example - exchange server. at first, there was "BISTBASH-EXH" that used as exchange server. after few months this server has crashed and they needed to make another one, so they installed a new server called "BISTBASH-EXH1" and somehow managed to link the old database (from EXH) and mailboxes to the new EXH1 server. the problem is that this server doesn't exist anymore on the nework, and causing a lot of errors in the EMC in the exchange server itself. its still listed under EMC->Server Configuration as one of two exchange servers, and holds DB called "Mailbox Database 0348614723" When trying to remove the above database in order to remove the old server from the server list in the emc, i get error message saying: -------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Error -------------------------------------------------------- The mailbox database 'Mailbox Database 0348614723' cannot be deleted. Mailbox Database 0348614723 Failed Error: This mailbox database contains one or more mailboxes or arbitration mailboxes. To get a list of all mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database <Database ID>. To get a list of all arbitration mailboxes in this database, run the command Get-Mailbox -Database <Database ID> -Arbitration. Before you can remove this mailbox database, you must disable, move, or remove user mailboxes and move arbitration mailboxes. -------------------------------------------------------- OK -------------------------------------------------------- Tried running Get-Mailbox -Database "Mailbox Database 0348614723" command in PowerShell, but it shows no results at all (no error as well). So how do I properly remove the old EXH server?? Thanks!

1. You have to move the system mailboxes first then proceed with the removal. - http://markswinkels.nl/2009/05/19/exchange-2010-delete-the-first-mailbox-database/Sukh

Wheni tried excuting Move-Mailbox i'm getting the following error: "The term 'Move-Mailbox' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program." altough now i think its irrelevant cause i removed the AD object for this DB, probably means it won't find any now.
