How to completely purge all deleted emails
I have a couple issues and I'm not sure why things are happening. I get the feeling that when I delete files in Outlook they go into a recycle bin type deal. Which is fine but I don't want this to be the case for more than a day. I have journaling set up so if they delete an email we can go back and forward it to them. My question basically is there a way that I can force a purge to every user account that empties their deleted items folder and/or purges their already deleted emails.

If I understand your question, you can configure the Deleted Item Retention on the Exchange server for each database. You can set this to one day, so that when a user deletes an item out of Deleted Items or does a Shift-Delete, the item will be purged after one day. Please read the following references (not sure what version of Exchange you have). http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125266(EXCHG.80).aspx http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997206(EXCHG.80).aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/09/25/452632.aspx You can set up retention policies or Manage Folder policies (again depending on your version of Exchange) to purge the deleted items folder. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee364744.aspx Tim Harrington - Catapult Systems - http://HowDoUC.blogspot.com
