How to change page breaks in Visio 2010

I have a large Visio 2010 drawing --  spans about 6  11 X 17 sheets.  Visio 2010 has applied page breaks that break up the flow of the drawing.  The Visio 2010 choice of assigning page breaks to fit the 11X 17 sheets really makes a mess.

I want ot manually set page breaks and move the page breaks  similar to Excel.  I would just be glad to simply be able to move the page breaks.

I do not seem to be able to find any way to set or move the Visio page brakes, or even find out what criteria Visio uses to set page breakes.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.  I have WIN XP PRO, SP3; using Visio 2010 standard.

Thanks,

The page breaks are derived from you printer settings and they cannot be adusted except by changing your printer page size.

Hi,

Movement of page breaks is not possible as it is dependent on the page size you select. Also setting manual page breaks is not possible as it again goes to your page size.

To set page size :

  1. On the Design tab, in the Page Setup group, click Orientation or Size.
  2. Click an option in the list to apply it to the current page, or right-click it and then click Apply to All Pages if you want to use the size or orientation throughout the document.

Orientation and size are mainly useful if you plan to print the diagram. On the computer, Auto Size expands the diagramming space as needed, and shows where page breaks will occur (based on the current printer paper size) if you print the diagram. For more information about Auto Size and page setup, see the article Change the page setup by using Auto Size or selecting size and orientation.

Also have a look at the Automatic Page Resize options in the same Design Tab...

Thanks to all for the information on Visio, I am begining to get the hang of Visio drawings and placement on the printed page.  For reference,  I am familiar and use the Excel page break function, which is very different. So, I was expecting something like Excel

You can save the Visio drawing as PDF then import the PDF into CAD once in cad you can do page breaks easily if you are familiar with the program.
