Receive a request from some of my remote outlook anywhere users They would like to have the contacts all in one place. Currently I have outlook clients running outlook 2003 to outlook 2010 Exhange server is 2007 SP3 Enterprise 64 bit on a Windows 2003 R2 64 Bit enterprise server When you click on contacts that give you your personal contacts. Put when you compose a new email and select to you are placed into the Global Address List (GAL) Now you have to drop down and select contacts to see your personal contacts If there a way to have all contacts in one place? Can outlook be told to start in contacts (personal in place of GAL)? any ideas or thoughts Thomas R Grassi Jr

Hi, "If there a way to have all contacts in one place?" There is a "All Contacts" item in the Address Book Drop-Down List. You can find all contacts in your org by selecting it. I don't understand what else do you relly need. "Can outlook be told to start in contacts (personal in place of GAL)?" Open Address Book--Tools--Options--choose Start with contact folders--choose the Contacts item under the Outlook Address Book in the Drop-Down list.Jack Zhou - MSFT

Yes , you can achieve by doing the below or tell user to proceed as mentioned 2003/2007 1.From the Tools drop-down list, select Address Book.... 2.In the Address Book window, from the Tools drop-down list, select Options.... 3.From the When sending mail, check names using these address lists in the following order: list, select Contacts or All Contacts. Note: If Contacts or All Contacts is not in the list, you need to add it. To do this: Click the Add... button. From the Address lists list, select Contacts or All Contacts. Click the Add button. Click the Close button. 4.Click the Up arrow button to move Contacts or All Contacts to the top of the list. 2010 Go To/ Open outlook 2010.Go to Address Book or Press Ctlr+Shift+B ( third Tab in address book Files - Edit - Tools).Click on Tools > Options > Next Under When opening tbook , Show this address list first > there you need to select the "All Conacts"while select the new email or GAL he will be seeing the All conatcts first instead of Global Address List. Thanks
