How to add an Exchange mailbox without adding the user to the AD
Although my problem seems simple enough to me, I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I simply want to create some domain mailboxes (ex. spamalerts@domain.com) without creating the user, "Spam Alerts" in the AD because the mail would be checked from within another AD user Outlook client. Is this possible or does the limitation of only being able to create 1 Exchange account per Outlook client get in the way? Thanks in advance,Brad

You have a fewoptions. 1. You could add the address spamalerts@domain.com as a secondary SMTP proxy address to an existing mailbox-enabled user. 2. Create a new mailbox-enabled user account for Spam Alerts. The admin that needs to see these emails can then (with the necessary permissions) open the Spam Alerts mailbox as an additional mailbox within Outlook. 3. Create a public folder for Spam Alerts and assign it the spamalerts@domain.com address. Tony www.activedir.org
