Tried to access to PAR child domain group from CHIL parent domain group. but it doesn't acess and gives me this error ( shown picture -http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32/erdenekhuu/exchange.jpg) How do i access to PAR child domain admin? I cannot access to parent domain's mailbox store from child domain's mailbox store. on link's error - the action could not be completed because the microsoft exchange information store service is unavailable. Be sure the service is running and you have network connectivity to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer. Operation: Retirieving mount information ID no: c1041721 Exchange System Manager

Hi, This problem can occur if any of the following are true: 1. Incorrect or missing delegation records in the parent domain for the child domain. If delegation is not being used, then ensure that the child DC's and Exchange servers are pointing to the root DNS servers for name resolution. 2. DNS suffixes are not properly added to the computer in which you are trying to manage the parent domain Exchange servers. a. If child DNS servers are required, then you can add DNS suffixes in TCP/IP properties for each child domain on the computer in which you are trying to manage the child domain with. After doing this, restart the DNS client service to ensure that the DNS suffixes are reloaded on that computer. b. If this is occurring from a child domain connecting to the parent domain, DNS devolution may be disabled in the network card properties. 3. NETBIOS name resolution is not working properly a. If the child and the parent domain are on the same network segment and netbios over TCP/IP is disabled in the network card properties, broadcast (ARP) requests are disabled so we are unable to find the netbios name of the child exchange server b. If you have your Exchange servers in separate OU's and have a GPO applied, you can configure a DNS Suffix Search List in the GPO. You can configure this setting in the Exchange GPO Object > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > DNS Client. The setting is called "DNS Suffix Search List" c. Also you can pull secondary zones of the child domains to the root servers and add a CNAME record of the SERVERNAME to the FQDN of the child Exchange server in the parent domains DNS zone. This is not ideal and requires additional administrative effort to keep track of these CNAME records. 4. Incorrect WINS entrys are in the WINS database for the child domain server. These WINS lookup problems can occur if you have WINS server IP addresses enabled on the network card properties or WINS lookups are specified for your DNS zone. 5. Invalid LMHOSTS or HOSTS file entry of the remote serverMore information regarding this can be found in these articles. How to Configure a Domain Suffix Search List on the Domain Name System Clientshttp://support.microsoft.com/?id=275553 New Group Policies for DNS in Windows Server 2003http://support.microsoft.com/?id=294785 Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2000 Server require NetBIOS name resolution for full functionalityhttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=837391 Regards, Xiu
