As exchange server install on IP range is different from my laptop IP. How can I go about it? Is exmerge still able to use on exchange 2007 and exchange 2010? Hi, The article whcih you have mentioned on your post is correct http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/04/13/437745.aspx. But make sure that the following pre-requistes you have done on your client. Outlook 2003 or 2007 must be installed on your client. You have to download and install exchange server 2007 SP1 32 bit management console. Give full access permission to all mailboxes for the account which you are going to use for exporting mailboxes (The below command will help you out for doing the same) Get-MailboxDatabase -identity “Server Name\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database” | Add-ADPermission -user "username" -AccessRights GenericAll I hope this will help you out. Santosh provided some good information ExMerge is a possibility, however be aware that ExMerge has a 2GB PST limitation since it uses the ANSI PST format. So what this means is that if you export a mailbox in excess of 2GB it will appear to have worked, however, when you go to import the PST it will not work because the PST is actually corrupt If you are unable to get the native tools to work or want a better alternative check out Lucid8's DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp since it can help you with the Import/Export process (Supports UNICODE PST format which means PSTs can be up to 20GB) OR you can just open an offline copy of the 2003 EDB and recover the data directly into the Exchange 2007 server making it much faster and easier to accomplish your goal Troy Werelius www.Lucid8.com

Hi Doreen, There are some requirements before you install the Exchange Management Tool. So I recommend you install the Exchange Management Tool follow the article below, Managing Exchange Server 2007 Using a Windows XP Workstation: http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-exchange-server-2007-using-windows-xp-workstation.html And please do not forget to install Outlook 2003 or 2007 on your laptop. If you want to install the Exchange Management Tool on your laptop, you should make your laptop is in the same domain with the Exchange server so that you can manage your Exchange Server using your laptop. In Exchange 2007 and 2010, ExMerge has been replaced by the cmdlets Import-Mailbox and Export-Mailbox. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Best regards, Serena
