How to Exclude specific email addresse from Exchange 2003 not to be delivered internally but to be delivered externally.
I have Microsoft Exchange 2003, I have situation:e.g. contoso.com.brand I have email1@contoso.com.br, email2@contoso.com.br email3@contoso.com.br from my ISP providerI setup the exchange in the way to use POP3 Connector to pull messages from my ISP to my internal exchange. My situation is I have setup email1 and email2 using pop3 connector, I can send and receive emailsno problem.I did not have the intention to setup for email3 (for some reasons) however If I send email from email1 in my Office to email3 externaly it dosn't deliver the email because the email is not setup in my exchange -the message is:"The following recipient(s) could not be reached:Email3on15/04/200911:35 PMThe e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address"but it is working fineif I use externally via my ISP webmail.Question: There any way that I can exclude the email3, that is, tell the exchange that email3 must pass through the exchange?Thank youWagnerwmibr@hotmail.com

Hi,If the Exchange is authoritative for the smtp address space (contoso.com.br), Exchange first tries to resolve the e-mail addresses that are displayed in the recipient fields to objects in Active Directory, if a recipient is not found in the Active Directory, a non-delivery report (NDR) is returned to the sender. Thus, if the Exchange is not authoritative for the contoso.com.br, if the recipient is not found, the message is routed to the Send connector that has the closest address space match.Recipient policies dictate the SMTP address spaces for which Exchange is authoritative. To determine whether Exchange is authoritative for a particular SMTP address space, follow these steps:In Exchange System Manager, right-click the recipient policy, and then click Properties.Click the E-Mail Addresses (Policy) tab, click an e-mail address, and then click Edit.If the This Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery to this address check box is selected, Exchange is authoritative for the SMTP address space. If this check box is not selected, Exchange is non-authoritative for the SMTP address space. After that, please create one send connector with the address space, then restart Microsoft Exchange Routing Engine and Microsoft System Attendant service, check this issue. Thanks

Dear AllenThank you very much for you help.I tried to do your instrutions but unfortunatelythe Exchange Organization is responsible for all mail delivery check box is selected and I cannot change it, it shows unavalable. I tried to add a new SMTP connector with the same domain name and in this case I unselect the exchange authoritative. but itcause a terriable delay on delivery and receive and sometime not receive any messages at all.On SMTP Virtual Service Properties on message Tab I try to put on the options to foward all theemail unresolved to another host like to my ISPSMTP service. I am doing some tests to see if it works.thank youWagner
