How to Create External Recipient Distribution List Exch 2003
Exchange 2003 SP2: Marketing wants a server-based list of employer contacts so she can send a monthly newsletter. I created a Global Distribution Group and then created three test users as contacts. Gave them external smtp email addresses and made them members of this Global Distribution Group. However, the group does not appear in the address list when I click on TO: in Oulook 2003. What did I do wrong? Is there an explicit procedure somewhere I can follow? Thanks! Greg

1. Did you mail enable the distribution list? Can you see email address associated with it if you check the DL propoerties in AD users & Computers? 2. Can you see the DL via OWA? 3. Can you see the DL in online mode rather than cache mode? 4. Is this for all users or some? 5. Rebuils the MAPI profile and test 6. If you create a user account and mail-enable this user, does this user get a email address, can you email this new user? 7. Update the RUS via ESM - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123665(EXCHG.65).aspxSukh
