Hi, There is no such requirement normally. But some times the updating of some new files on the existing systems may require restart. That will be informed in message prompt Regards from www.windowsadmin.info

Hi, To add to the discussion, often it is helpful to just restart the Exchange Services on the Exchange Sever. For that you can create a .bat file and put something like net stop MSExchangeServiceName net start MSExchangeServiceName and then just double click this .bat file to restart all the services. You can put all the Exch services there. You might need to consider the service dependancy, so that dependent services are started after the services which they depend on. You can check that dependancy by just resarting each exchange service. I think all Exchange services are dependent on Exchange AD Topology service. I would only reboot after applying patches or service packs which require it.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". Hi, In practice some patches will reboot your server by force to activate its function. You’d better reboot the server when the updates promote you to make a reboot. Thanks, Richard.
