How do you change the exchange address which outlook connects to
I setup an exchange server so the address is exchange.domain.com and I need for it to be exchange.access.domain.com. I need to change it because I have a wildcard ssl certificate for *.access.domain.com and whenever a client logs into the exchange server through outlook, it gives a certificate error because the exchange server address is exchange.domain.com and not exchange.access.domain.com. Any help in figuring this out would be greatly appriciated.

I changed the external host name and I am still getting the same certificate error in outlook. When I open outlook it still says it is trying to connect to exchange.domain.com instead of exchange.access.win-serv.net. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help so far, can you please tell me how to get to that setting in the management console or how ever else I can check that setting?

Hi, The get-mailboxdatabase should tell you what the rpcclientaccesserver is set to and you can change it with the set-mailboxdatabase Leif

I forgot to say that outlook can connect to the exchange server just fine, that address is win-serv.access.win-serv.net. Not sure why, but outlook keeps trying to connect to exchange.win-serv.net also. I don't remember exactly what I setup exchange.win-serv.net up for in the first place, but outlook keeps trying to connect to it. Any suggestions on how I can either change the exchange.win-serv.net to exchange.access.win-serv.net or just get rid of it?

It shows win-serv.access.win-serv.net That is working fine. For some reason, outlook is trying to connect to another address which is exchange.win-serv.net. I need for it to be exchange.access.win-serv.net

Hi XBOXv2, If your Outlook clients that connect to Exchange from inside the local network, you can refer to this document: Security warning when you start Outlook 2007 and then connect to a mailbox that is hosted on a server that is running Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010: "The name of the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726 Thanks, Evan
