How do you (you, not me) configure resource mailboxes for calendars (Exchange 2007)
Currently in our organization users can schedule conference rooms a few different ways. All rooms are regular user mailboxes. Permissions are assigned through the Calendar permissions in outlook. Default is set to reviewer so anyone can open a calendar and see what's going on. This is a convenience thing for people, especially the admin assistants. They like to know what's going on around them. I've recently been doing some testing and research around Exchange 2007's resource mailboxes. I've set up a test Room mailbox, gone to OWA, opened the mailbox, and set permissions in the resource options area. * I assign User1, User2, and User2 to be able to book the room automatically. * Those users can't open the calendar for viewing in outlook. * Naturally I go into outlook to check the calendar permissions. Those users are there, but their permissions are set to NONE. So of course they can't open it. If I set them to reviewer, will it break anything? Does anyone else have a similar issue? Managing calendar permissions in 2 different (and kind of obscure) places is a bit of a pain, but I figure I might be missing something.

These two article series have been a good help i my work: Managing Resource Mailboxes in Exchange Server 2007 (Part 1 through 3) http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-resource-mailboxes-exchange-server-2007-part1.html Resource Mailboxes in Exchange 2010 (Part 1 through 4) http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/resource-mailboxes-exchange-2010-part1.htmlMCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist

Neither of these responses answer any part of my questions or concerns.

Now I see that I begged your question. I understood it as "How do you (you, not me) configure resource mailboxes for calendars." By coincidence, however, I was asked to accomplish a corresponding task by a customer. They wanted everyone else to be reviewer (read items, folder visible). This apparently hasn't broken anything. But here I ran into a strange issue. I used PFDAVAdmin and changed the Calendar permission for NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON from None to Reviewer. This works with Outlook 2010, but not with Outlook 2007. With the latter I had to add \Everyone with Reviewer permissions. While I was at it (remembering your question), I added one of my accounts to the Selected Users and Groups and changed from None to Reviewer. There appear to be no issues as far as I can tell: Your request was accepted. Sent by Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
