I brought up a new Exchange 2010 server and am getting a database showing up that I cannot delete. I am thinking someone in the organization may have setup a test environment on the network and unsuccessfully cleaned up their settings. How do I get rid of this database? When I try to remove the data base I get the following. The database object 'Mailbox Database 1605610390' in Active Directory has been corrupted and is in an inconsistent state. Unable to find any server hosting a copy of this database. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], NoServersForDatabaseException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : 604FFDD1 I've tried locating the database in AD as well as ADSIEdit and have been unsuccessful. I need to setup a DAG and really don't want to start out with something corrupt that may come back to bite us. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Ryan

Did you use ADSIEdit and check in "CN=Databases,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=<exchange organization>,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=<domain>,DC=<normally "com">" This is where all the databases in my DAG are being listed?

CN=Databases is what I am not seeing. I am new to this organization and the active directory is extremely messy. OU's and containers all over. It should fall right under the default naming context am I right?Ryan

It's not an arbitration issue. The database showing doesn't exist. There is only an entry somewhere in active directory telling Exchange there is a corrupt database. Unfortunately it still counts against our licensing. Haha.Ryan

Found the CN=Databases and removed the database. Rebooting everything now. Thanks for the info!Ryan
