How do I reinstall the CAS rolls?
ultimately I'm trying to get the pop and smpt services to work - but apparently I have CAS installed..yet its not at the same time?I logged into the exchange shell and typed in: get-exchangeserver server2 | FLIt says ServerRoles: Mailbox, ClientAccess, HubTransportSo it seems I have Client Access roles installed...but when I try to start the pop3 service, it says it doesn't exist. So I went to install the server roles using setup.com in the cmd, I type:setup.com /mode:install /roles:CAit tells me:The path 'c:\progra~1\microsoft\exchange server' is not valid directory path. Exchange server setup encountered an error. So I goto appwiz.cpl and I attempt to 'change' (windows server 2003) my exchange 2007 - i've also tried this from the dvd.It comes up, and lists all four roles. two of them, mailbox and hubtransport, are checkmarked but i can't uncheck. CAS is checkmarked, yet its uncheckable. so I click next and it gives me this error every time:Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:00:00Client Access RoleFailedError:Setup previously failed while performing the action "Uninstall". You cannot resume setup by performing the action "Install".Elapsed Time: 00:00:00I am totally lost. I've done tons of research but I can't find this issue with anybody else. Please help!!Thank you!

Hello, RemoveCAS role WaterMark registryas per below article (first take the backup of it) and see if setup goes ahead. How does Exchange 2007 setup know to resume a failed setup? http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/05/21/439529.aspx

heyyy thank you! this got the install to go. But halfway through I'm now getting this error:Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed. Elapsed time: 00:02:09Client Access RoleFailedError:The virtual directory 'owa' already exists under 'server2.southeastcontractors.net/Default Web Site'.Parameter name: VirtualDirectoryNameElapsed Time: 00:02:09Can I just remove the owa VirtualDirectory without screwing up my exchange? Or what should I do here? I'm a little bit knew at the shell and installation of exchange so I don't want to screw anything up. Thanks!

okay, I went to IIS > server2 > Websites > Default Web Site and removed the owa directory by right-clicking it and choosing delete. It is not there - yet the installation still says it is?
