How do I get more details regarding BADMAIL error message?
Hello, I am creating .eml files in C# and dropping them in the Pickup directory via a Foreign Connector. When some mails are not picked up, they are renamed .bad and the message trackinglogs reflect a BADMAIL error. I would like to know what exactly is "bad". Is there a way to turn on diagnostics to find out why the hub is not liking the files? We have set some diagnostics to "expert" but I don;='t see any additional info anywhere. Thanks.

Hello John,The badmail is undeliverable message that cannot be returned to the sender. For example, SMTP receives a message which cannot be resolved. In this case the message would be bounced back as an NDR. However, if the from address also cannot be resolved then the NDR itself is undeliverable. Items in badmail folder are not processed any futher by Exchange. The messages that are determined to be badmail are left in the directory and are renamed from .eml to .bad, and if .bad message already there, itll rename to MessageName.Date.bad. When badmails exist in your system, related event log will be generated to remind you .Hope this helps. Thanks,Elvis
