How do I find SMTP on E S 2003??
I would like to begin with the fact that I am not a developer and have never worked with SMTP. I have a customer that runs his mail off a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, but he it NOT an IT person or a Developer either, so any time I ask him a question about his mail setup, I have to be able to essentially walk him through how to find the information for himself. My question is essentially pretty simple: How do I find the SMTP information for the Exchange Server? I need to take his email SMTP information and input it somewhere else to send emails under his name. I know I need: Username: info@customerdomain.com Password: CustomerEmailPassword Server: ???? <-- help! Port: ??? <-- help! I don't want to reset smtp or do anything crazy, I just need to know where/how to look up these settings. Ideally instructions an idiot like me could figure out. Do these exist? All the SMTP info I've found is for adding in other email accounts. Help!

Run "nslookup". Then "set q=mx" and then "domain.com". The result should be the name(s) of the server(s) that accept mail for the domain. >Port: ??? <-- help! It better be 25. :-) --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
