How can I trace the ip address from emails and add this to my toolbar shortcuts

Hi

I've been getting some very good spam recently and used to be able to track the route of the email by clicking on a shortcut that showed me the properties of the ip and senders details.

Since changing my laptop this has disappeared whilst I can still track by highlighting the address and right clicking and going to properties this seems a little long winded . how do i get my short cut back?

double click the email to open it

click FILE, then the properties button

or do you mean the tiny little arrow just to the right of the word TAGS (Outlook 2010 and 2013)

you need to double click a message before either of these options are available

If you do not want to open the message first, but want to access the Message Options dialog directly from within the main Outlook window, then you can add the Message Options command to your Quick Access Toolbar;

  1. File-> Options
  2. Select the Quick Access Toolbar on the left.
  3. Set the Choose commands from dropdown list to; Commands Not in the Ribbon
  4. From the command list select; Message Options
  5. Press the Add > > button.
  6. Press OK.

The option is now added to the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of your Outlook window and view the Internet headers of a message without needing to open it first.
