How can I select and delete multiple emails in OWA on my Android phone?

I have the new Outlook Web Access installed on my Android phone. Unlike the desktop version, there is no obvious checkbox to select multiple messages for deletion. I get a lot of junk email in this account and can tell from the brief subject line what is junk.  On the desktop version of Outlook I can quickly select all of these junk emails and delete them easily, but on my Android OWA app, I don't see any way to delete them without opening each email first - and that sorta defeats the whole idea of deleting junk email. If the spammers can force readers to open their emails, they have WON and who knows what junk they might install on your phone if you click to open a junk email.

If MS hasn't developed this option for their OWA Android app, they need to right away. If that capability exists, I need to know how to do it.

Hi Joef,

Thank you for the detailed explaination.

Microsoft Outlook OWA app for Android is not developed by Microsoft I assume and hence this forum isn't the right to help you with the 3rd party app even if it allows you to manage Excahnge O365 emails. Basically we don't any any idea what its all about.

Moreover I would like you to be cautious while passing your email username password onto any unknown 3rd party app.

Now, Where we can help is using "standard built-in generic Android email app" to set up a account to access your emails. As you have mentioned the email account is O365 based, its definately configurable using it.

Certain mobile clients allow only one Exchange Account to be configured at a time. Please check and let me know if you already have any Exchange Account configured.

Did you try to follow the steps mentioned earlier to configure the email using standard app, let us know if you get any error.

NOTE:-Some people have samsung galaxy n5100 and able to set 2 exchange accounts without 3rd party.

Yes, Mail for Exchange/Outlook allows up to 10 sync relationships in one Lumia device. If more accounts are added, another one has to be deleted in order to keep the total number 10.

Thanks for your reply. I just assumed the Andriod OWA app was a Microsoft product because it was recommended by our College's IT dept. via  hyperlink on the same email that gave us the link to download the Office 365 software for our desktops. But, yes, I would prefer to have all my email come through in the "standard built-in generic Android email app."

I already have two other exchange-based email accounts going in to that inbox at the moment, a Hotmail account, and a different College email account that work fine.  And until two weeks ago, my "old"  version of this College email account had been set up and had worked fine in the combined inbox.  But when I tried to configure the new Office 365 Outlook OWA account the same way as I did the other two, and as instructed by College IT, I continually get an error message that asks me to re-enter configuration data manually. I have tried multiple combinations of entries in the username and domain fields, including the domain name issued by the College IT department that worked fine when setting up my Office365 desktop version of Outlook, but no combination of entries has ever worked on the standard built-in generic Android email app on my Samsung Galaxy SIII with Android 4.4.2.

Hi Joef,

Thank for the reply. It appears there was an app released recently.

Below is an official app by Microsoft. Try it if its not the one that you are already using.

Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Corporation - May 20, 2015 Productivity

And troubleshooting beyond this point would require you administrator's help on server side mostly.

I feel like there is some issue with the autodiscover service maybe.

This site should help identify the issue.

Thanks.

I have the latest version. So far, nothing has helped. The OWA for Android app just doesn't seem to offer this feature.
