How can I select and delete multiple emails in OWA on my Android phone?

I have the new Outlook Web Access installed on my Android phone. Unlike the desktop version, there is no obvious checkbox to select multiple messages for deletion. I get a lot of junk email in this account and can tell from the brief subject line what is junk.  On the desktop version of Outlook I can quickly select all of these junk emails and delete them easily, but on my Android OWA app, I don't see any way to delete them without opening each email first - and that sorta defeats the whole idea of deleting junk email. If the spammers can force readers to open their emails, they have WON and who knows what junk they might install on your phone if you click to open a junk email.

If MS hasn't developed this option for their OWA Android app, they need to right away. If that capability exists, I need to know how to do it.

Hi Joef,

What is the email you are trying to access on the phone, is it Office email, personal Gmail or anything else.

OWA Android app :- Doesn't seem to be a MS supported ActiveSync application.

Follow the below links to configure your mobile correctly to your Mailbox using the inbuilt app:

Set up email on an Android phone or tablet

Configuring an Exchange ActiveSync account on Android devices

Set up an Office 365 for business or other Exchange-based email  account
  1. Tap Settings > Accounts > Add account > Email. This application might be named Mail on some versions of Android.

Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

The mail comes from a university using the Outlook email client in Office365 via  the domain  outlook.office365.com

I have set my mail up on my Android phone using the Microsoft Outlook OWA app for Android.  The problem isn't that I can't get my mail, I get my mail okay. The problem is that once the mail is in the OWA inbox, I can't find a way to delete multiple emails at the same time. The app forces me to open each one and press the trash can icon for each one.  I don't want to have to open every piece of spam and junk mail I get.  The other built-in app that comes with my Android phone works with all of my other email accounts, and it lets me selected and delete junk emails as a group without opening them. But I can't get my University's Outlook-based email account to work in the standard app's combined inbox, so I had to install and use the separate MS Outlook OWA app to view and reply to the mail in that Outlook email account

I either need:

(1) a way to get the Microsoft Outlook OWA app for Android to allow me to select and delete multiple emails at once. . .

OR

(2) a way to get the standard built-in generic Android email app to allow me to set up a new account that can access mail that's in my university's outlook-based mail system. Because I would prefer to have ALL of my email in that one combined inbox and then I can select and delete emails the same as with all my other email accounts.
