How can I retrieve Word 2010 settings after a system recovery ?

Hi,

Following a pretty severe Windows 7 meltdown after Windows updates, I couldn't launch a session nor boot in safe mode etc and had no other choice but to backup my data via an Ubuntu live CD and use my system recovery partition to wipe my drive clean and start over. That means that I could not run Office and use it to export the various settings to files.

I've backed up the AppData folder which is enough for getting back the settings of the softwares I'm currently reinstalling, except for Office 2010 : I can't find the folders storing all Office settings. I'm looking to restore Word, Excel and Powerpoint settings, meaning : UI (ribbon), customized shortcuts, macros and everything else that is not default.

Am I not looking in the right place ? Where are they stored ?

Thanks for your help !

Most Word settings are stored in Normal.dotm template and registry keys. If you only backed up AppData folder, you may lose the settings stored in the registry keys.

The UI settings are stored in the following location, in the files with the .OfficeUI and .customUI extensions.
