How can I move contacts from one exchange account to another within the same domain?
I'm trying to move the contacts information from one file to another on my domain. I believe we are running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 my version number is 6.5.7638.1 (if that helps) And I believe it is the standard edition. We are running oultook 2010. I'm wanting to move the contact information from one user to another and have the contacts save on the exchange server for that user account. That way the user may log on any machine in the office, kick on outlook, login to the exchange server, and download their contacts. If you could please please please respond I'd be over-joyed. This seems like an impossible task at the moment, seeing as I have had no luck thus far on all other web searches I've completed looking for a solution. I have access to the exchange server, so, I can work from client and from server if necessary. I already have a .csv file created. I don't mind making any other exported file types. Sincerely grateful for any help, Jared

Hi, You should be able to export the contacts to a pst file from one accounts and import this pst file to the other account using Outlook (if pst files are not disabled using a policy). Leif

Hey Leif, Do you know how often the exchange updates it's contact lists and what not? Cause we'd also like it to show up on the online exchange services as well. I'd like to get just the contacts added to the account. For whatever reason I'm not getting them moved up to the exchange from outlook. Will the .pst file make a difference? I already tried importing them with a .csv file. Jared

As per Leif said, export just the contacts to PST then go to the Outlook user you wish to import to and import. Importing will also be instant and will appear on the users OWA (web client of Outlook). http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/move-contacts-to-another-computer-HA001105393.aspx

Hi, .pst file is personal folders file which is located on your local machine. When you import a PST file you can see all the contacts are in the contact folder named "Contact in Archive Folder". You can simply drag all the contacts to your mailbox folder and then you can find the contacts in OWA. I also suggest that you import the contacts in Exchange Server instead of only for each account because when you need update the information for the contact you don't need update each copy of contact in each mailbox.
