How can I make a distribution list that only a select few of individuals have access to?
Is there a way to create a email distribution group through exchange that only certain AD members have access to?

Yes you can create distribution group through exchange server, open the DL and then Click on Exchange General Tab, there you can see a Message Restriction and select the option whichever you want as per the requirement. Thanks Amit Sakalle

Thanks Amit SakalleThats not the issue... I know I can create distribution lists in Exchange. I want to limit the access to the list to select people. I know I have the option to hide it from the general public but thats not quite what im aiming for. This is with exchange 2007 btw. When I click on the general tab there isnt anything about restrictions. And when I cycle through all the tabs the only restiction options I see are for message size limits.

Hello, You need to go to Properties -> Mail Flow Settings -> Message Deliver Restriction and add the members which are allowed to send mails to this DL in Senders in the following list. Is it what you are looking? Reference: Recipient Properties > Mail Flow Settings Tab > Message Delivery Restrictions http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125046.aspx
