Hosting own email server
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I am setting up an Exchange 2007 server for our network and currently, our public email is hosted by our ISP. I wish to discontinue our ISP's email hosting and use our Exchange server to host email. Is there a tutorial out there on how to set this up or any other info? I'm not sure where to start. Thank you! -Mark

Hi Mark, I would suggest you to first understand Exchange 2007 server roles and decide how many server you want to implement in your environment. Introduction to Exchange 2007 Server Roles http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Introduction-Exchange-2007-Server-Roles.html Here is a guide about typical installation of Exchange 2007 if you are going to install all server roles on one server. How to Perform a Typical Installation Using Exchange Server 2007 Setup http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123694(EXCHG.80).aspx Configure MX record for your domain in Public DNS and configure the internet mail flow. You can configure mail flow either from Hub or Edge transport server. Edge transport server role should be placed in DMZ but if you have plan to install only one server and need to configure through Hub transport server directly. How to Configure Internet Mail Flow Directly Through a Hub Transport Server http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb738138(EXCHG.80).aspx Further detail you can find on TechNet & MSExchangeTeam Blog. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124558(EXCHG.80).aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/
