Hosted Exchange2007 on Win2008
We Recently recieved our SPLA and started trying to setup a Hosted Exchange environment. My problem is finding any documentation on doing this. I started using the HMC4.5 but it is designed for a much larger setup. We only need to host exchange and for 20 users initially, but i don't see growth of more than that a few hundred users for quite a while. Can anyone point me to some good info? Thanks. David

Read this article(s): Shared Hosting with Exchange 2007 http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/shared-hosting-exchange-2007-part1.html Here is the intro paragraph: The topic of shared hosting with Exchange Server is not new. Whether your interest is to accommodate more than 1 company with a simple Exchange configuration, as a result of a merge or acquisition, or to start your own small e-mail hosting business, Exchange Server has all the power to respond to your needs. Since I like to write about the most common requests I get in my technical community life, I thought it would be interesting to detail the setup configuration for a scenario of an Exchange infrastructure shared by more than one customer/company. So for all of those who would like to start a hosting business, I recommend a further advanced solution, Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) version 4.0, which I'll cover lightly in this article. Depending on your needs, there is more than one way of achieving shared hosting: with a simple configuration (Figure 1), with a more complex configuration (Figure 2) or by using the HMC framework (Figure 3). Exchange is really versatile and scales according to your goals. Mike Crowley A+, Network+, Security+, MCT, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP: Enterprise Administrator / Messaging Administrator

Thanks Mike, i've already looked over that article. it also states a little further down that : Disclaimer The following article seriesdetails a configuration which is not officiallysupported by Microsoft. You can read the official documentation at the following link: Configuring Virtual Organizations and Address List Segregation in Exchange 2007.I'd like to do something along the lines of his figure1 with only a couple of servers, but i liked the idea of the provisioning features of HMC. I'm looking over the whitepaper that is in the disclamer message so maybe it will help. I had missed it before.David
