Hi,You can hide the user from GAL. It is on the user's property pages. In Exchange 2003 you will find it in the ADUC. In Exchange 2007 it is in the EMC.Regards,Zoltnhttp://www.clamagent.org - Free Antivirus for Exchange http://www.it-pro.hu http://emaildetektiv.hu

You can not hide particular user from DL but you can hide from GAL by selecting an option "Hide from Exchange address lists"in the properties of object. Hiding single user in a Distribution List, No, there isn't any feature. You can either hide all members (in 2003 only) or create a Dynamic Distribution List (in 2003 and 2007) which doesn't show members to end-users in GAL. Hiding single user in GAL, can be set on user properties as per given above links...Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA, MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I assume that you are using Exchange 2003 based on QBDG. Let's say you want to hide user1 from the a DL then set the value of any one Custom Attributes 1-15 to something in the properties (Exchange Advance - >Custom Attributes) of user1 to find it in QBDG. Now, while creating QBDG give name, select "Customize Filter", in General select "User with Exchange Mailbox", in Advance tab select User and Custom Attribute which you set with value and in condition Is (Exactly) with value you set in earlier step and add. Now add this QBDG to your main DL where you want to hide the user1... But keep in mind that main DL should be Universal group and NOT Domain Local or Global. Er... my bad, that's correct I missed that portion... Exchange 2003 doesn't allow you to add QBDG into a normal group (while Exchange 2007 allows DDG to add into normal group). So another workaround for Exchange 2003 is create a new normal DL add users which you want to hide, right click on new DL and click "Exchange tasks...". and select "Hide membership". Now add this new DL to the main DL.Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
