Hide multiple distribution groups from GAL while having them show in another address list
I have to create 19 separate distributiongroup with each having anywhere from 10 to 15 users in each. I would like to keep the Global Address List from becoming cluttered. Here is what I want to do: * Create a new address list. * Add the newly created distributiongroup to it. * Hide the newly created distributiongroup from the Global Address List. I have created a test address list and a few test distribution groups. I am only able to have one of the test DG show up in the test address list. Has anyone tried this scenario or similarwith success? Thanks for your help. Anthony Mondy

You can't do that with Distribution Lists Just create the Address List with the correct LDAP querry You may need to configure users with a common attribute to group them with an LDAP querry Deil

Another idea to get this done, might be: * create those distribution groups * create a new global address lists that contains everybody except those distribution groups (info on how to do this can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb430771.aspx) * make sure that the default global address list that contains those distribution groups isn't available anymore for your users (info on how to do this can be found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232101.aspxand here: http://exchange-genie.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html) HTH -Ilse

Thanks for the suggestions Deli Pro-Exchange and IIse Van Criekinge. I have very little hair left on my head trying to resolve this. I will give both a try andpost my results. Anthony Mondy
