Help with trying to get microsoft office back on my laptop

Hello I am hoping that some one can help me, I purchased a laptop from pc world back in 2009 and had to install microsoft office on it via a product key. Everything was fine up until about 2 years ago as my laptop broke down and went away for repair, the hard drive was replaced and the laptop was set back to factory settings which wiped off my microsoft office. I got pc world to email me a copy of my original receipt showing that I had purchased microsoft office for the laptop however last month my laptop broke down again and again my hard drive was replaced and everything yet again was wiped. I purchased office 365 in pc world in the hope of reinstalling it on my laptop but office 365 is not compatible with windows vista.

Is there anyway that microsoft can check my details for my laptop to confirm that I had originally purchased the microsoft office for my laptop and thus replace it for me as I now need it.
