Help with recovered Exchange DB
Hello, I am running Exchange 2007 sp1 on windows 2008. I had a old backup that I needed to restore. To make it work I had to create a virtual machine with Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003. I was able to restore the old copy of the DB to exchange 2003 in a separate administrative group, and I am able to mount the DB. However I can't get to the e-mails. When I try to get to them via outlook or owa I get sent to the Exchange 2007 server. Does anyone know how I can get e-mails out of the old DB (and STM) that are mounted on my old exchange server? Thanks in advance,

Hi, You can create some non-mailbox enabled users and reconnected the old database mailbox to the users. Then, use exmerge tool to export the mailboxes into pst files. I also suggest that you read the following KB articles prior to run the exmerge tool: How to configure an account to use the ExMerge utility in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003 http://www.google.cn/search?hl=zh-CN&q=exmerge+send+as+receive+as&meta=&aq=f&oq= ExMerge Does Not Work Unless You Have Receive As and Send As Permissions on the Store http://support.microsoft.com/kb/273642 If the exmerge tool cannot export the user mailboxes correctly, please post the exmerge.log file for further check.
