Help needed with Recipient Update Service warning in Exchange 2003 BPA
I am unable to follow the directions here (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998435(EXCHG.80).aspx) suggested by the Exchange 2003 Best Practice Analyzer. The problem started after KB907747, an Exch 2003 intelligent filter update, broke our SBS 2003 and Exchange (and SPs) had to be reinstalled back on 12/28/10. Can someone please help by responding with precise steps to find and remove the legacy address types? It isn't clear in any of the documentation I've found thus far. Email flow is fine and no user address changes have occurred, so perhaps I can just ignore these warnings, but I want to be sure. Thanks! Grant

Hi You can't find it? Did you find the gatewayProxy attribute? Jonas Andersson | Microsoft Community Contributor Award 2011 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Yes, I used ADSIEdit and found the gatewayProxy attribute but I cannot tell if any or all of the values are "legacy". The SMTP addresses it shows are correct, for example. Thank you, Grant

Compare against the smtp domains in the recipient policys? If they are correct I think you can ignore the warning Jonas Andersson | Microsoft Community Contributor Award 2011 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

As Jonas said, if the SMTP domains in RUS are correct, you can just ignore the warning. Thanks.
