Help in configuring my 2 Exchange 2010 CAS servers (CAS ARRAY)
Hi everyone, Please can someone tell me what i need to set internal and externall address to for OWA when using a CAS Array with 2 servers? I read somewhere that i have to configure them exactly the same in terms of settings. and i am ok with them having same external address used for OWA, but i would have thought that internal should be servername1.ad.domain.local/owa and servername2.ad.domain.local/owa ?? And with a CAS array would my SAN cert have to be for the CASarray ??? Ronnie

There are 3 possibilities: Configure NLB on CAS network interfaces, Define CAS array (CAS in NLB should be added automatically) and NAT virtual IP of NLB with CAS array name. Add hardware load balancer Configure DNS round robin with both CAS servers IPs. CAS certificate should include external name (virtual CAS array name) and names of both servers. Of course it should be installed on both servers (prepared on one of them, export with private key and import on second one) http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/planning-architecture/uncovering-new-rpc-client-access-service-exchange-2010-part1.htmlRegards, Konrad Sagala, MCT, MCSE+M, MCITP: Exchange 2007/2010

Hi Konrad, Thank you very much for your reply. that is a really good article. Could you tell me if i am correct that external URL for OWA on both CAS servers should be the same and the internal ones different? as the internal FQDN for each will vary because the 2 servers do not have same name. Hi, Yes, same URL for internal and external would be better chioce, it would be eaier to manage. You can use servername1.ad.domain.local/owa and servername2.ad.domain.local/owa as your internal URL, also you can use https://domian.com/OWA as your internal URL. Note: We need have record for domain.com in your own DNS server. For certificate, we may include the followings: 1. autodiscover.domain.com 2. domian.com 3. servername1.ad.domain.local 4. servername2.ad.domain.local VIDEO: Certificate Wizard in Exchange 2010 http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/videos/exchange-server-2010/video-certificate-wizard-Exchange-2010.html# How to generate a CSR for Microsoft Exchange 2010 http://www.digicert.com/csr-creation-microsoft-exchange-2010.htm Xiu Zhang TechNet Community Support
