Help Please: How to clear out the users mail databases and start from scratch with Exchange 2007
I have a test Exchange Server (running on SBS 2008) so it has all of the roles. About 2 months ago I did an import of my sbs 2003 domain users e-mails using exmerge and then the PS Import-Mailbox command. Both worked as expected. However due to a delay in getting hardware in the test server (A VM which will be moved to a production host) has sat dormant for the past 2 months and since many of the users have radically rearranged their mailboxes (archived, filed into new folders, and deleted mail) I'd like to wipe the exchange Mailbox database so I can start with a clean store to import the complete and most recent versions of everyons mail into the new mailbox DB on the 2007 server. I can't find a switch on the import mailbox PS command, or any documentation on how to create a new mailbox db with empty user mailboxes for all the users on the SBS system. It's only 20 users so if need be I can nuke and readd everyone but I'd rather not. Here was the starting thread in the SBS 2008 forum, but I don't think the responders really understood what I wanted to do. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/thread/4d256e88-7859-4713-9b93-5baabbedfd3b

If there is nothing you want in the stores then simply; NOTE: BEFORE CONTINUING BE SURE THAT YOU DON'T NEED ANYTHING FORM THIS STORE! Dismount the store Delete the Database files Mount the Store Exchange will squawk about the fact the the database files are missing and you are about to create a blank store Continue and when the mount is complete you have a nice clean blank store Re-do your import NOTE: if you are unsure about needing information from the store/database you may want to consider copying the store/database information to an alternate location vs delete just in case you discover you need something from the db at later date Troy Werelius Lucid8

And note this process will also delete any Outlook rules, special folders, Mobile device associations, delegate settings, views, etc, etc....
