thanks for your reply Leif, I went through that link you provided before, unfortunately it didnt help I will give some idea about the environment hope it will help bring solution, We have one domain Windows 2003 server with Active Directory, and two exchange 2003 servers. For example, Our domain name is collegeabc.edu The first exchange server is mail.collegabc.edu The second exchange server is mail2.collegabc.edu we started to get this error (Event 8197) message after we have un-installed then re-installed mail2.collegabc.edu , the error was in the event viewer in Mail2: Error initializing session for virtual machine MAIL2. The error number is 0x8004011d. Make sure Microsoft Exchange Store is running. by the way, are there any configurations I have to make in the First Routing Group ? under the First Routing Group I have a folder named Connectors and a folder named Members. The Connectors folder is empty. The Members folder has Mail and Mail2 in it. Mail is set to master, and Mail2 is set to member. I also noted that the queues of Mail and Mail2 are getting too large. Mail reaches up to 980 messages and Mail2 reaches up to 350 messages ! Is this normal ?? I also noted that the Event 8197 Repeats every 25 minutes thanks for any help in advance Kumail

I also have noticed another error in the event viewer in the Exchange server Mail2: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Source: MSExchangeTransport Catagory: NDR Event ID: 3017 Description: A non-delivery report with a status code of 5.3.5 was generated for recipient rfc822;asamgscce@collegeabc.edu (Message-ID 24A1729B22AEA1439B2dewe5BE7226A2E0180FCAD@collegeabc.edu). Causes: A looping condition was detected. (The server is configured to route mail back to itself). If you have multiple SMTP Virtual Servers configured on your Exchange server, make sure they are defined by a unique incoming port and that the outgoing SMTP port configuration is valid to avoid looping between local virtual servers. Solution: Check the configuration of the virtual servers connectors for loops and ensure each virtual server is defined by a unique incoming port.---------------------------------------------------------------------- any ideas ??! solutions ???
