Health Mailboxes

Hi All,

I have a single Exchange Server 2013 CU7 with ONE database, which includes Public Folders.

I've tried recreating the Health mailboxes by deleting the AD Objects etc, and Exchange recreates them.

The issue I have is the NUMBER it creates.  I've just done the above exercise and I get the following (Server is called EXCHANGE)

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-Mailbox-Database

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-001

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-002

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-003

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-004

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-005

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-006

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-007

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-008

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-009

HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-010

And then another load of these numbering the same

In-Place Archive - HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-Mailbox-Database

In-Place Archive - HealthMailbox-EXCHANGE-001

and so on and so forth

What gives?  I thought Exchange only was supposed to create 2 per database.

No matter how many times I stop the Health Service and delete, it creates more and more.

Is there a way to RESET this service to start from scratch again?

I should add that these dont show up as normal mailboxes.  I use the following command to list them.

Get-MailboxStatistics -Database "mailbox database" | Sort -Property totalitemsize -descending | ft DisplayName, @{expression={$_.totalitemsize.value.ToMB()};label="Mailbox Size(MB)"}, itemcount

Hi,

I run the command that you provided and get the result as below:

1. Run your command.

2. Get-Mailbox -Mornitoring

3. Delete Obj from ADUC and Restart Health Manager service. Get again.

According to your description, I notice that the HealthMailbox keep increasing while restart the Health Manager service. If it is the case, it's unnormal. Please try to verify whether the ADUC has the same issue.

If ADUC on DC shows as well, it seems an Replication issue, please try to restart Replication service for testing.

Any related Information/Warning/Error message without sensitive information would be helpful for the further troubleshooting.

Thanks

Only error in EV is

MSExchangeHMHost: Failed to create the log directory: D:\MonitoringDiagnosticLogs\MSExchangeHMHost because of the error: Could not find a part of the path 'D:\'.. Logs will not be generated until the problem is corrected.

Further to this, I noticed why the DisplayName isnt HealthMailboxGUID.  Heres the properties of the user in ADUC, automatically created....

So can anyone explain why I have 11 Health mailboxes for ONE database?

I should only have 2....

Found the answer myself.  This is apparently now the norm after CU6.
