Has Microsoft acknowledged the problem of draft messages not being deleted after the message has been sent

A number of people have noted this is a problem and yet nowhere do I see Microsoft admitting this is a problem let alone providing a fix.

The problem is simple.  After an email is sent, the draft copy of the email should be removed.  It isn't.  The message will stay there in my drafts folder.  I would be happy to unsync the Drafts folder so that they're only stored on my local machine.  But I get the message that the folder can not be unsync'ed as it's a special folder.

It would be nice if MS would at least acknowledge this problem.  I've seen enough reports to believe this is a real issue.

I just bought Outlook 2013 thinking it would solve some of the 2007 problems I had.  I'm seriously thinking of going back to 2007.  This hardly appears to be an improvement in versions.

Hi,

As far as I know, it's not just Outlook that does it. You can see lots of discussion for the same thing happens on other mail clients as well, so it might be something outside of Outlooks control.

Are you using an IMAP acocunt? This seems to be an issue typically for IMAP account. If this is the case, please try to stop saving a copy of these draft messages on the IMAP server, then verify result.

Take a look at this article for more information:

No, this is a problem with Outlook and IMAP email configurations.  I use other email clients, like the one on my iPhone, and this isn't a problem.  I used Outlook 2007 with the same IMAP configuration and never saw this problem.  I spent over $100 on the latest version of Outlook thinking it was improved.  In some ways it was, but this bug is not good.  I can live with software having bugs.  I hate it when they won't even admit it's a problem.

I've seen enough posts where others see the same problem I see.  I've tested this out and tried numerous configurations costing me hours of time.  I'm convinced it's a real problem and one that MS won't even acknowledge exists.

And to address the link you provided, they suggest this as a solution:

"The solution is to only use a local copy of your drafts and other messages, and thereby prevent any errors with the server from resulting in draft message propagation."

However, it isn't possible to configure Outlook 2013.  Or if it is possible I can't figure it out after trying for quite a while and I haven't heard any suggestions as to how this could be done.

Microsoft support, please acknowledge and fix this issue.
