HUB Server using his secondary IP to communciate to SMTP Gateway
Hi everyone . I have a new Exchange 2010 HUB Server with IP 10.1.1.1 and secondary IP 10.1.1.2 that is assign to a receive connector on that HUB. I have an SMTP Gateway in Ffront of the HUB Server and i added the IP 10.1.1.1 to the allow relay list on that SMTP gateway. I have discovered that nothing was passing from HUB to SMTP Gateway and finally i i can see that the HUB uses the secondary IP 10.1.1.2 to talk to the SMTP gateway !! Can anyone explain why this is happening?ammarhasayen

Are both IP addresses assigned to the same NIC? Check the binding order of the IP addresses on the NIC. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

no dear it is ONE NIC :) the NIC contains primary IP and two secondary IPs. I am very glad to know about the link you sent and thus i will close this threadammarhasayen

I have finally configured the HUB with one IP and use different ports to map different connectors and this solved it.ammarhasayen
