Hello, I am currently migrating from Exchange 2003 to 2010, and have run into an issue with migrating the Schedule+Free/Busy Information public folders from the 2003 server to 2010. Whenever I go into the 2003 System Manager, navigate to the Public Folder store, and right-click on "Schedule+Free/Busy Information", then click "Properties", I get the error: "The operation failed because of an HTTP error 501 (Not Implemented) ID No: c1030afb" I have tried everything I've found on Technet and other forums, but nothing has worked so far. So far, I have: Deleted the exadmin directory from IIS and restarted IIS. The folder was recreated as it should be. Renamed the Local Path in IIS to \\.\backofficestorage. It just renames itself back to \\.\BackOfficeStorage. Not sure if this even matters, since Windows doesn't tend to be case sensitive, but it's something I've tried. I'm sure there are other things I've checked, but don't recall everything as it has been a couple weeks since I've been able to get back to this issue. The only other advice I've seen for this issue is to re-install Exchange 2003, which really seems like a bad idea at this point. Hopefully someone here can offer a better solution. Hi, Have you tried to add a replica of all folders from the 2010 server using the powershell command AddReplicaToPFRecursive.ps1 ? - After that you might be able to manage the folder from the 2010 server. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997966.aspx

See if you can add the replicata on the 2010 side using PS. I saw this, but thought it would only work if both servers are 2010. If it will work with 2003 I'll give it a try.

Just tried this, and it is indeed only for 2007 and up. When I run it I get the error "Server 'servername' is running Exchange 2003 or earlier. Thanks for the reply, though!

When you renamed the backofficestorage did it rename it back to BackOfficeStorage right away or after a few minutes? If after a few minutes it could be to the ds2mb replication. After renaming backofficestorage it takes a few minutes to go back to BackOfficeStorage. I remember running "cscript adsutil.vbs delete ds2mb" when doing this before, and it comes back and says "deleted path /ds2mb". I just tried it again, restarted IIS, then changed it back to backofficestorage. Within about 5 minutes it changes back. I also ran the "Set-publicfolder identity "\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY\EX:/o=contoso/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) Replicas Server\Storage Group\Public Folder Database" command like you recommended (changing the relevant parts to match my servers, of course) and it looks like it runs (it just stalls for a second then goes to a blank command prompt again, no confirmation or anything), but when I run "get-publicfolder -Identity "\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY" -Recurse | fl name,Replicas" I still see nothing listed under Replicas for "SCHEDULE+ FREE BUSY. I also still get the Event ID error 14029 every 15 minutes stating "Couldn't find an Exchange 2010 or later public folder server with a replica for the free/busy folder: EX:/O=name/OU=ouname."".

Couple things to check in IIS, go to the both the exadmin and public properties. In the general tab, is the ip set to all assigned or a static ip? If static ip try setting to all unassigned. Click the advanced, do you see a host header? If so delete it. Go to directory security, ip address and domain name restrictions, edit. are there any restrictions? If so delete them. Ok, so I went in and checked everything you said. What I found: IP was static. I changed it to all unassigned Removed the host header There were no restrictions This seems to have resolved the problem, as I no longer get the 501 error and was able to set up replication to the Exchange 2010 server. I saw something about this before, but didn't change the IP address because we have ISCSI connections and I wanted to make sure the site was using the main IP address for that server. Guess either that or the host header was the issue. Thanks again for your help!
