HTML emails looping when transferring to Blackberry Internet Services Server
Hi All.We are running Exchange 2003 with the latest service pack, and have external contacts within Active Directory / Exchange to forward all email to our Blackberry Device users to their Blackberry email address. However on random ocassions we have HTML based emails that get stuck in the queue and can end up with the user having the same email sent to them 100's of times. This is definitely an Exchange Server issue as most users have Orange Blackberry Accounts apart from the CEO who uses Vodafone.I know how to resolve the issue but am bemused as to whether there is anything that can be done to fully sort out the problem.Any ideas welcomed.DJ.

Enable SMTP protocol logging and see what's going on. I suspect that the SMTP server to which these messages are being sent is responding with an NDR code that causes Exchange to retry them.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". Hi Ed,Thanks for coming back to me. I do have SMTP logging enabled and I do believe that you are correct. Is there a way to fix this issue, or it is just one of those things please?DJ.

You'd need to discuss that with the postmaster of the other domain.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.". ok. It's just strange that this seems to happen when passing the email from our server to a recognised Blackberry Internet Service Server.

Well, if they're looping, it would appear that BIS is sending them back.-- Ed Crowley MVP"There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems.".
