HMC 3.5 Backend Exchange Re-build
Hello, I currently have installed HMC 3.5 in my environment. A recent poweroutage distroyed the server the Exchange Backend was utilizing. I am in the process of re-building the server and would like to know if there is a way to add the new server to be recognized by the Front end server and by MPS? I was thinking utilizing a new server. renaming it to the old server name, and also assign the old IP address to the server. I'm not sure if I am missing a step and any advise would be greatly appreciated! Regards, Jo

Hi Jo, You have to know that the Exchange Server information is an attribute of each user account. If you want to rebuild a new server having the same name as the old one, you should proceed like this : - install the new server with the name of the old exchange server - join the server to the domain (maybe you need to reset the machine account in AD) - run the Exchange setuo using the switch /disasterrecovery. This will build this new server with the information of the old one. If possible, recover the databases
