HMC / MPS Support
Hi I have a multi-tenant exchange server 2007 with HMC/MPS. Could I get support for HMC here or am I lost? If you can help me, this is my problem: There is one new organization that sees ALL contacts in the GAL. Normally it just schould see the 'members' in it's own organization. Can anyone help me to find the problem? Do I have to fix this with the provtest-tool? Best regards Anacrusis

Hi Have they got their "own" GAL and AL? Check a user in this new organization and the attribute called showinaddressbook, use adsiedit or ad explorer Exchange 2010 for hosters forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchange2010hosters/threads Development forum http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrdevelopment/threads Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Dear Mr. Andersson Thank you for your assistance, I will open new threads in the hoster-forum. Okay, I checked the attribute by using asiedit and I can see 5 lines: - CN=All Users, CN=All Address Lists...... - CN=Default Global Address List, CN=All Global..... - CN=Company LTD AL - CN=Company LTD GAL Can I remove the first line or does this crash other config from HMC? Hi Take a printscreen and save if anything goes wrong I would remove the All users and Default GAL and just have the Company AL and GAL in this field Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Hi Sorry, but I have to ask again if thats really the right way, because: As I understand this attribute contains alle the lists in which this object should be shown. But my problem is the other way: In this object I can see all lists. I did a Get-Mailbox command and as I can see there are a lot of lists in the attribute "AddressListMembership", but I cannot found this in ADSIedit. I also tried to execute the 'RepairExchangeObject.xml' but with the same result. It looks like somewhere is defined that this object has access to all lists(?) I'm quite sure on this one since I've worked with it earlier I prefer using AD Explorer for this type of things check showinaddressbook, in here you should have the lists that should be available Make sure the user(s) have permissions to the listsJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Hi Okay, I used AD Explorer to remove the other lists from the attribute. After that I can see that they are also missing in "AddressListMembership." After updating the OAB, restarting Outlook and downloading the OAB again, I still can see ALL address lists from all organizations. EDIT: In OWA I see the correct list, with correct entries. Asy ou mentioned in OWA , it is possible view only the users company GAL , not the other organisation GAL. Hence please check in Online Mode of exchagne and download nw address book in outlook.Regards Gopi K

Try to use the Outlook in online mode, if that works then the problem is related to the OAB or generatingJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog | Follow me on twitter: jonand82

Hi together I disbaled Cache-mode and set connection-state to 'internet'. After that I downloaded the address-book again but with same result. I can access the GAL with all contacts inside and I can access all AL from all organizsations. Best regards Anacrusis

For exchange questions in a HMC environment, you can use Premier Support for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration which would be the best place to seek the resolution Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Hi Anacrusis, Are you still having an issue with this? If so, from the deployment tool (re)run "configure exchange address list security" and "Prepare address list security". Patrick
