Groups in Exchange 2013

Hi,

I'm not sure if I need to create a (dynamic) distribution group or a security group.

I want to create a group with a few users where I can delegate each users max attachment size.

the default is like 20MB or something, but lets say I want to give one user 100MB max and another user 10MB max.

I tried going through the groups in EAC and couldn't figure it out. Can anyone advise on how to accomplish this?

Thank you!

You need to create security group and add them to RBAC group. then they can manage the max attachment size.

Also you need to consider the send / receive connector attachment size on the server. if it is 35mb and u set 100 mb of user mailbox it would not work.

Hi,

Distribution group will be better.

The only way we can set the max attachment size in exchange is transport rule.

Message size limits

If you want to set the default value of max attachment size for a group, we can set the following transport rule(Rule 1). If you want to except some users in this group of not in this group, we need to create another transport rule(Rule 2).

Rule1: User1 is a member of Distribution Group Sales

Rule2: The users excepted in rule1 or not in the group Sales

One rule, one attachment size limit.

Best Regards.
