Granularity in Exchange 2007 policies
We recently implemented an MRM that was supposed to delete emails over 390 days. Much to our surpise it also deleted contacts. The contacts ahve been restored so the panic is over BUT I have been told that there was a patch in January to 2007 Exchange SP1 that allowed you greater control when creating policies over what the policy affected. IE entire mailbox does not include contacts in it's definition Our system is fully patched but I've been able to find nothing that clarifies whether this was a standard patch or an ask for nor what exactly it did. Or am I chasing a plar bear in a snowstorm? Any help / direction appreciated Van

It certainly would be easy for one of us to answer your question if you shared the policy settings. If you include the Contacts folder as a managed folder then you should expect that it will be managed. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .
