Going from GMAIL back to OUTLOOK Exchange Server 2003
Our IT manager had everyone switch over from Outlook Exchange Server 2003 (Microsoft Office 2003) to GMAIL last year. Now our new CFO wants to switch back to OUTLOOK and our IT manager has quit. I'm fairly new to the networking side of things so I need some guidance as to how we switch back. We have a domain name and an Exchange Server that we use to Authenticate all computer logins but how do I get Outlook activated for all users back on that Exchange server and on their individual PC's? Do we need to pay for user licenses? thank you, Vero

Seriously, I suggest you hire a local consultant because your question requires far more attention than anyone who volunteers his time in these forums can spare. I can provide you with some quick starting points, however. You'll need to get your Exchange Server, firewall, and networking reconfigured to accept mail, and you'll need to change Internet DNS to point your MX record back to your Exchange Server. You'll need to make sure that everyone on GMail has a mailbox on Exchange and that they can log into it. As to getting the mail back into Exchange, the Transporter Suite (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=35FC4205-792B-4306-8E4B-0DE9CCE72172&displaylang=en) may work for you using the IMAP interface into GMAIL. As to licenses, nobody who participates in these forms is qualified to quote licensing terms on behalf of Microsoft. I recommend that you consult your Microsoft representative or reseller.
