Global Disable of Mailbox Features (POP3) in Exchange 2007
I have done some searching and have not come up with an answer to this question. Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated! Is it possible to disable a Mailbox Feature such as POP or IMAP for all mailboxes in the Exchange 2007 Oraganization?I would like to set POP as disabled for all mailboxes created in the Org and allow the feature to be enabled by exception.I know that this can be done using powershell. I could query all users in an OU for example and then run set-casmailbox on the mailbox and disable POP. I would rather have this be a default behavior if this is possible. Thanks!Josh

Hello Josh, By default POP3 & IMAP services are not running and startup type is set to manual on server so it is disabled on Client Access server. User can not connect until services are running even though it is enabled at mailbox level. When we create new user it is enabled by default in mailbox features, I think we can not change it to set like whenever new user is created it is disabled automatically and need to do it manually after creation.

Thanks, Amit. That is pretty much the conclusion that I came to as well. I searched and searched and couldnt find a way to do it. I wish it were possible. It surprises me that it is not...it seems like it would be a good feature. Thanks for the response.
