Global Catalogue
Environment - 1 EX2007 mailbox - 1 2007 CAS Maybe this is more of a client question. What Global Catalogue server should Outlook be using. It seems that evryone is using the GC that is in the same site as the Exchange server. Is this as it should be? Should this be modified? Also, what is the best way to determine what GC is being used. I was told to look at the properties of 'All Address Lists' in the address book where it show the Exchange Address Book provider. Thanks

Hi, You can go into outlook icon tray in taskbar , pres shift+ctl and right click on icon and select connection, then you can see domain controller detail which is being use by outlook. Your outlook should connect the GC of local site and only should change it local site GC goes down.Anil

All connections for 'Directory' are on the GC in the Exchange server site., not the local GC. Why is this?

This is by design so outlook can do lookup for AD in less span of time.Anil
