Global Address List lookup across two seperate Exchange installations.
Hi, We host Exchange 2007 for several organizations. A seperate but affiliated organization with their own Exchange 2007 installation would like their Outlook client and OWA users to be able to view the users in our Global Catalog as well as their own. Is there a configuration change that can be made to allow a global catalog lookup to span two seperate Exchange installations? Thanks, Dale

I think you mean Global Address List. This isn't something Exchange can do natively - Exchange GLA lookups are Forest level only. Microsoft do have a number of options, for example: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998597.aspx However those will require a trust. There are also third party tools (google GALSync) which can do similar. Simon. Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Sembee, Thanks for the information. I was searching for Global Catalog info so I was missing most of the relevant results. While Googling, I found this: Microsoft Exchange Server InterOrg Replication utility. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238573 This looks promising as well as free, which is always good. Any feedback on this in an Exchange 2007 installation? I fixed the subject of this thread... Thanks, Dale

It isn't something I have done myself, so cannot really comment. Hopefully someone else will chime in with feedback. Simon. Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.
