Global Address List is not updating in Cached Mode.
Running Exchange 2007 SP1(OS-windows 2003 r2 ent){1 server-(CAS and HUB),CCR node1(active),CCR node2(passive)} with Outlook 2007 , Suddenly my Global Address List is not updating when in Cached Mode. When switched to non-cached mode it is up-to-date. I tried the "download address book" under send/receive,the task completed successfully but that did not solve the issue. I also checked that all the *.oab files is in my Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\User Profile\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.When I configure a new user outlook profile, GAL works properly but after restart the Outlook it does not work. In OWA, GAL is working fine. Syed

What do you see in the folder where the OAB is published? Are the files up to date, i.e., are there a set of files that are reasonably current (not all of them will be)? The default location is: C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB\<some GUID> Check your OAB generation: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/16/429204.aspx http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/11/15/431502.aspx Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Please remove C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ExchangeOAB and C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Client Access\OAB to delete the subfolder. And 1. Open EMC->Organization Configuration->Mailbox 2. Under Offline Address Book tab, right click the Default Offline Address Book and click Update 3. Then, please check whether the following share folder is created on the OAB generate mailbox server: C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ExchangeOAB 4. If the OAB file is generated, please restart the “Microsoft Exchange File Distribution” service on the Client Access Server and then check whether the OAB file has been replicated to the C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Client Access\OAB on the Client Access Server. 7.If the OAB file has been replicated to the Microsoft\Exchange Server\Client Access\OAB, then check this issue. I'm having the same issue in my environment. I migrated from Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2010 RU1&RU2. When in cached mode, the GAL is not updating. Does deleting the existing GAL and recreating a new one fix the problem? So far, I don't know why this is happening. I don't want to set up all my users in non-cached mode in order. Any help will be much appreciated to tackle this issue. Best regards, Armel
