Getting an error message in outlook when I create e-mail account manually

Hello all,

Could you help me to resolve an issue with my outlook

I have Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 servers

I've transferred all mailboxes including system ones from 2010 to 2013 and now everyone connects to Exchange 2013 server at the moment.

But, When I try to add an account using Manual configuration method in Outlook I get an error message:

The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action

No error messages appear when I choose Exchange 2010 server and I am able to create an account. It happens only when I type the name of Exchange 2013

Could anyone give a piece of advice, please

Thank you

I'm not sure how you'd accomplish a manual connection to Exchange 2013.  Please describe in complete detail what you're actually doing.

Manual server configuration is not supported with Ex2013, you are supposed to use Autodiscover. If for whatever reason you insist on doing it the manual way, you need to get the mailbox GUID and combine it with the domain. Here's the relevant bit from the article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj150540(v=exchg.150).aspx#BKMK_Arch

Outlook clients no longer connect to a server FQDN as they have done in all previous versions of Exchange. Outlook uses Autodiscover to create a new connection point comprised of mailbox GUID, @ symbol, and the domain portion of the users primary SMTP address. This simple change results in a near elimination of the unwelcome message of Your administrator has made a change to your mailbox. Please restart. Only Outlook 2007 and higher versions are supported with Exchange 2013.

Hi,

Please run the following command to get mailbox GUID:

Get-Mailbox -Identity User | FL ExchangeGUID

Fill the Server Name with ExchangeGUID@domain.com to setup account manually in Outlook to have a try.

About Autodiscover service, you can get more detailed information at the below link:
